With 'Nu-Gloom' taking over the alternative music scene, this band fits in well with bands such as Ipso Facto and White Lies. Although their music is based on indie melodies and catchy riffs- theres a eerie feel created by horrors-esque synths and distorted vocals. Their fashion sense certainly fits in with the gloom too.

Everything started out in a room surrounded by a wonderful bolognese panorama similar to the darkest and most gothic Edgar Allan Poe's settings.
Here is where My Awesome Mixtape were born and grew up with their "Catchy Geek Pop", something totally different from the Poe's landscape! Friendly, happy, fresh, young [as the age of the band members] the My Awesome Mixtape songs are certainly inspired to the Anticon Scene [Why?, themselves...most of all], Suburban Kids With Biblical Name, The Faint, Tender Forever and The Blow. What will happen next?! That's basically unknown, apart from spreading the Nerd Word all over europe and the entire world.

"These young cubs may only have an average age of 17, but their experimental minimalism and epic soundscapes have a mighty emotive roar."
"An act that defies their tender years with a formidable sound of immense power and grand ambition, Lion Club are definitely an act to watch out for."
"Lion Club are the complete antithesis of landfill indie culture and Hollyoaks guitar pop. They play epic rock songs of heartache and despair, joy and optimism."

Sex Church is a Band from Vancouver, Canada. They are coming from Canada’s modern-psychedelic scene. Their sound is very dark, strange and atmospheric. The voice is near to a Garage Band. All together you can say it's a Garage-Punk Band. But find it out by yourself.

Listen! This is totaly great! HURTS has been rapidly getting the attention of many music enthusiasts. They come from the home of Joy Division, Manchester and they are in the final stages with their debut album. The video to Hurt's debut single, Wonderful Life, is so gloriously sombre and monochrome, it's almost obscene, although frankly, up here, we could weep with joy. The angular haircuts, the savage cheekbones, the darkly lit black-and-white setting, the pained stares into the middle distance, it reeks of eau d'1983 – the year when half-remembered bands with names like the Lotus Eaters, It's Immaterial and Pale Fountains took the shaved-sideboards-and-suits look of post-punk into the mainstream. The song itself is surgingly sad synth-pop, with a mysterious lyric whose optimistic chorus ("Never give up, it's such a wonderful life") contrasts with the dour verses, filled with references to crying and rain.

Sheffield's Artery are a band who could have been huge, but, despite their innovative and thrilling records and visceral live performances, their place in the post-punk movement was all but ignored throughout their seven-year career. They split in 1985, but regrouped in 2007 at the behest of Jarvis Cocker, a fan since their early days, to play the Meltdown festival which he was curating, and last month played London's Dice Club to an ecstatic reception.

Death in the afternoon started out as a 2 piece project of Christian & Linda. Recording songs in our apartment with all the junk we have collected over the years.. After a while we became a quartet with David & Albin joining us. We like cool guitar & bass lines, and drum machines that make you wanna dance. We enjoy recording, and that is a never ending project that we still do in our apartment.

Televised Crimewave are a Popp! band who formed in the evening time at the end of 2007. They play all over the country and sometimes the world. Sometimes they do it alone and sometimes they do it with bands like The Charlatans, The Cribs, Abe Vigoda, Mika Miko and the (late) Long Blondes.

Black Wire (Daniel Wilson, Si McCabe, Tom Greatorex, Danny Prescott)formed in January 2003 and played their first gig within a month of forming, at the Leeds club night Pigs. Then they went on to tour extensively playing with such bands as Bloc Party, The Libertines, Hard-Fi, The Cribs, Kaiser Chiefs and The Futureheads. Their Debut single „Attack! Attack! Attack!“ was awarded NME single of the week, followed by positive reviews of subsequent releases.
Their self titled debut album was released in early 2005 on 48 Crash, a label which they left in 2006 due to inconsistencies in the label's input and work ethic. They were working on new material set for release in 2007, but then they split!
Si and drummer Danny have begun performing under the name Lord Auch while Dan and Tom have formed Televised Crimewave.

A second album, Inventions, was expected to be released in early 2008, but was not (due to issues with the band's record label, Parlophone). One of the more obtuse bands coming out of Adelaide is Fire! Santa Rosa, Fire! who sound like At The Drive-In, Circa Survive and The Mars Volta are wrapped up in a highly combustible package that, upon explosion, you can’t help but dance to.
A handful of self-released EPs have been committed to the annals of the Fire boys, and a new bun is cooking in the oven as we speak. The highly pitch-shifted first crumb from their forthcoming album is ‘War Coward’, a tasty offering that foregoes the usual verse-chorus-verse shtick and adapts a more cyclical format, ebbing and flowing rather than adhering to any set structure. Definitely a grower.

Fresh new music from Italy. Leggins are not a female pop group wearing Leggins or something else you could imagine. This is a really good Indie-Rock Band. Perhaps you could say they sound a bit like the young Arctic Monkeys or Libertines. At the moment they are recording their first album. This is a Pre-Album Version. Enjoy.

The Sunday Reeds are a female-fronted noise pop/rock band named after Melbourne patron of the arts Sunday Reed. The love-child of some kind of rock 'n' roll orgy between The Jesus and Mary Chain, Joy Division, The Ramones and The Velvet Underground. Driving bass lines, plenty of guitar feedback, primitive pounding rock beats and alto, sex-laden female vocals. If Nico had joined The Ramones, strapped on a bass guitar, and a whole lot more noise was added, this is how it might have sounded. After spending much time songwriting and recording in a hell-hole apartment, founding members Romana Ashton and Drew Jones were joined in early 2009 by drummer Andy Dawson. And then there were three... The Sunday Reeds' debut album 'Drowning in History' is out now through Squirrel Records and also available from amazon.com and cargorecords.co.uk

Adam Heron, Thomas Walker, George Latham and Riley Difford are the RED DRAPES. They come from Great Britain and their music is really psychedelic, not that hard but always with a good atmosphere and a memorable voice. This is no trash indie band, they make quite mature music. Now they are in studio, recording some songs and till christmas they want to release their first EP.
Red Drapes formed in the fall of 2008, and made creative use of a derelict pub in Camberwell, South London. Bearing an extremely cold winter songs began to write themselves from influence of past cities and London.

Men Should Brothers Be sind vier Jungs und ein Mädchen aus der sächsischen Kleinstadt Riesa aber Sie klingen so gar nicht nach Dorf, Einöde oder Langeweile. Ihre Debüt-EP “Citing Awesome People Without Being Awesome Too” ist im April diesen Jahres erschienen. Darauf finden sich fünf sehr gut tanzbare, sommerliche Britpop-Songs. England mögen sie ja sowieso, haben sie doch ihren Bandnamen aus der britischen Nationalhymne geklaut und dementsprechend klingen sie auch so. Very british.

Die Kitsuné Entdeckung mit ihrer zweiten Single - I CAN TALK. Diesmal allerdings deutlich elektronischer! Trotzdem immer noch richtig peppig, zum tanzen auf jedenfall geeignet. Die Radio Version hier fällt meiner Meinung nach wesentlich besser aus als alle verschiedenen Mixe dazu.
Two Door Cinema Club return with a brand new single “I Can Talk” on 16th November on Kitsuné. Another deliriously catchy gem to follow on from ‘Something Good Can Work’ released earlier this year, the single will be released in both 7” and 12” formats and comes backed with remixes by French Horn Rebellion, Crystal Fighters, Moulinex and Golden Bug! TDCC’s debut album slated for release in February 2010.

In 1981 The Cure released their eighth single, "Charlotte Sometimes". It was a double sided single. "Splintered In Her Head" was on the B-Side. Neither track appeared on an album originally, but the A side was added as a bonus track on a CD Re-Release of their third album, Faith in 2005. Faith was reissued in the UK on 25 April 2005 (26th in the U.S.) as part of Universal Music's Deluxe Edition series. The new edition features a remastered version of the album, as well as the song "Carnage Visors" on disc one, while disc two contains demo and live tracks, as well as the non-album single "Charlotte Sometimes". The single reached the #44 spot on the U.K. singles chart.

The Rakes have split up on the eve of a UK tour, forcing the band to cancel all of their forthcoming live dates. The group told NME.com: "The Rakes always been adamant and proud of the fact that we give 100% to every gig we've ever played."
"If we can't give it everything then we won't do it. That was the rule we set ourselves from day one. After much deliberation we have come to the shared conclusion that we can't give it 100% any more and regret to announce that the Rakes are calling it a day." The indie-rock band formed in London in 2004 and released their debut album, Capture/Release, in 2005 to critical acclaim. The group, consisting of Alan Donohoe, Jamie Hornsmith, Lasse Petersen and Matthew Swinnerton, were known for their post-punk influenced songs such as Work, Work, Work (Pub, Club, Sleep), and Retreat, which captured the grim monotony of modern life. They released their second album, Ten Messages, in 2007, followed by a third LP, Klang, earlier this year.
