Alex, Kevin und Sam sind mittlerweile aus Bangor, NordIrland nach London gezogen und wohnen dort in einer WG zusammen. Der Name "Two Door Cinema Club" entstammt übrigens nicht irgend einer Phantasie sondern existiert im Prinzip wirklich. Früher hingen die Jungs immer in einem kleinen Kino namens Tudor Cinema ab. Daraus machte Sam dann Two Door Cinema Club und seitdem hieß die Band so. Nachdem im März 2010 ihr Debutalbum "Tourist History" auf den Markt gekommen ist und zwei Singles folgten (I Can Talk & Undercover Marty) steht nun die nächste Single auf dem Sprung (Out 3.Mai). "Something good can work" heißt das gute Stück. Doch das überrascht! War doch genau diese Single der große Wach- bzw. Bekanntmacher der Band. Nun soll der Track erneut erscheinen, diesmal aber in einer ruhigeren, poppigeren Version. Bereits 2009 war nämlich "Something good can work" auf einem Kitsune Sampler zu hören und das durchaus erfolgreich! Genauso wie diese Single wurden auch das Album bzw. viele Tracks darauf quasi geglättet. Schade, aber ich stelle euch hier nochmal ein paar alte Versionen bzw. Tracks ein, die gar nicht auf dem Album sind. Man kann nicht sagen, dass sie schlechter oder langweiliger klingen. Im Gegenteil! Im April kommen die Jungs auf Deutschland Tour. Wer noch Tickets für den ausverkauften Gig der Jungs im Berliner ROSIS sucht, der kann hier noch welche bekommen.

Foals

Am 7. Mai kommt das neue Foals Album "Total Life Forever" in Deutschland auf den Markt. Die ersten zwei Videoveröffentlichungen lassen bereits erahnen, dass der Stil sich etwas geglättet hat. Poppiger und reifer kommen die Tracks daher. Anders als "Antidotes" verspricht das neue Album weniger experimentell, dafür mehr Mainstream-Like zu werden. Aber nach dem Erfolg des ersten Albums auch kein Wunder und wer will es den Jungs auch verdenken, schließlich muss man auch kein zweites "Antidotes" abliefern!
Am 12. April spielen die Foals im Berliner Columbiaclub! Der bisher einzige Deutschland Gig ihrer Tour. Ausnahme bleibt das Melt! Festival. Schon letztes Jahr sollten die Foals dort spielen, leider fiel der Auftritt aber aus. Dieses Jahr soll es nun klappen.

Johann van der Smut

Johann van der Smut ist kein folkiger, holländischer Sing & Songwriter, sondern eine heiße Nachwuchs-Indie-Band aus Nordrhein-Westfalen! Max, Hannes und Timm machen dabei electronisch-, punkige Indiemusik die einschlägt. Sie spielten schon zusammen mit "The Cinematics", "The Paddingtons" und "BEAT!BEAT!BEAT!". Indie mit deutschen Texten ist irgendwie seltsam, wenn man nicht gerade auf Tocotronic, Kettcar oder Tomte steht, aber Johann van der Smut schaffen es Beat, Rhytmus, Melodie und Text gut zu vereinen. Es darf/kann also auch ordentlich gerockt werden! Hier ein paar Beispiele. Enjoy!

Nach ihrem ersten Video "Mexico" folgt nun das nächste Top Video. "Moonlight Hours" heißt es und es hat definitiv das Zeug zum Sommerhit! The Holidays mischen darauf Indie mit Surfpop und wissen gekonnt damit zu überzeugen! Sehr erfrischend und absolut hörenswert! Der Swiss Remix ist was für die Disko. Eine absolute Empfehlung für alle Indie DJs!

O Children (Tobias, Gauthier, Harry and Sleathis) is a British/French post punk band. Like a lot of the bands emerging from London ways at the moment, O Children play dark post-pop or post-punk music. Currently they got no LP, but now there is a single called "Ruins" from their upcoming Album which comes out in summer 2010. All together O Children is a fuckin great band, so enjoy their music, go to their shows an buy the record.

It's easy to picture Oakland foursome the Splinters as a gang of boisterous broads out to fuck shit up. The band's anthem, a fist-pounding riot called "Splintered Bridges," proclaims, "We will walk over splintered bridges and burn them behind us/We will break off door hinges and shut 'em when we leave." Take that prickly band name and the group's crude-but-crafty brand of garage pop — which borrows from both the Shangri-Las and Bikini Kill — and it seems like the members could be a bunch of bull-dykes on a bender.
On their debut album, Kick, out March 9 on Oakland's Double Negative label, the Splinters mix silliness, sincerity, and sarcasm so much that it can be hard to tell them apart.

Einer der genialsten Videoclips der letzten Monate und ein gutes, neues Album ("Come Down with Me"). Das fällt mir spontan zu den Schotten von Errors ein. Hits wie "A Rumour in Africa" oder "Supertribe" gehen ins Ohr und bewegen die Füße. Mit ihrem Electro/Indie-Pop liegen James, Stephen, Greg und Simon genau richtig. Hört es euch an und haltet nicht still!

Darwin Deez ist vom Erscheinungsbild schon ziemlich freakig, aber seine Musik steht dem in Nichts nach! Im April kommt sein Debutalbum und bisher erfreute er uns schon mit dem ein oder anderen Videoclip auf youtube. Darwin Deez ist Strokes Fan und wir werden sehen, welches der beiden Alben 2010 mehr begeistert. Zumindest zieht Darwin mit seinen Songs die Menschen genauso auf die Tanzfläche, vielleicht ein anderes Klientel, aber die Musik ermutigt doch definitiv zum Tanzen.

The Chocolate Watchband

The Chocolate Watchband, was a garage rock-band formed in San Jose, California in 1965.[1] The band had finally broken up indefinitely by 1970 but then reunited in 1999 at a 66/99 show Mike Stax organized in San Diego. They continue to play today at garage rock shows in Europe as well as the States with Little Steven and the Electric Prunes. The band's music was largely described as a blend of 1960s-style garage rock with a distinguishable rolling San Francisco sound. The group's early music appeared to contain blues influences, and later it developed psychedelic elements through use of instrumental experimentation.

Fans der Editors könnte das gefallen. Die finnische Band "The Orders" , nicht zu verwechseln mit New Order, kommt mit melodischen Klängen daher. Düster wirkt ihr Outfit, die Musik ist aber keineswegs so wie ihr Aussehen vielleicht vermuten lässt. 2008 veröffentlichten die Finnen ihr erstes Album und wenn sie sich noch nicht getrennt haben, dann arbeiten sie gerade am zweiten :)
